Located within the One Atlantek headquarters, our facility offers direct access to our boats and equipment, enabling you to delve into the intricacies of maritime life.
This unparalleled training ensures that you're not just learning in theory, but practicing and perfecting your skills in an environment that mirrors the actual challenges of adventure.
In partnership with Dawn Smith founder and owner of RYA accredited Aurora Sea School, we've crafted a course syllabus that broadens horizons and captivates the adventurer in everyone.
Dawn is a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster, Yachtmaster examiner and an accredited instructor in many maritime disciplines.. She previously worked commercially on the water for 20 years as a police boat skipper so is no stranger to working in extreme maritime environments. By the 25th of February 2019 Dawn was the proud owner of the title 'Ocean Rower' and a successful solo and unsupported independent row across the Atlantic ocean.Â

RYA VHF Radio Course
Communication is the lifeline of the sea, and our RYA VHF Radio course ensures you're adept at using this essential tool. Our expert instructors will guide you through the proper use of VHF radios, including DSC (Digital Selective Calling), emergency procedures, and practical radio operations. By the end of the course, you'll be able to communicate effectively in routine, distress, and emergency situations, ensuring you and your crew remain connected, no matter the circumstances.
RYA Sea Survival Course
Your safety and that of your crew are paramount at sea. The RYA Sea Survival course equips you with lifesaving knowledge and practical skills that could make all the difference in an emergency. Learn about life rafts, the importance of life jackets, survival techniques, and how to properly use flares and other signaling devices. From simulated emergency scenarios to hands-on experience with safety equipment, this course is designed to keep you afloat in the most challenging conditions.
RYA First Aid Course
Medical emergencies require immediate and effective response, especially in the remote marine environment. Our RYA First Aid course covers CPR, wound management, hypothermia, seasickness, and other common ailments encountered at sea. You'll gain the confidence to administer first aid when it's needed most, ensuring the well-being of all on board.
RYA Essential Navigation Course
Chart a course to success with our RYA Essential Navigation course. Whether you're navigating familiar waters or exploring new horizons, our comprehensive training covers chartwork, tidal systems, pilotage, passage planning, and electronic navigation aids. We'll help you master the art of making informed decisions, interpreting weather forecasts, and understanding the rules of the road.
